I don’t know about you, but the one thing I dislike more than cleaning is the smell from the chemicals in the cleaners. Anything that says “wear gloves, ventilate area, or may be corrosive” is kind of scary to me.
So I started using this super easy, homemade all-purpose cleaner that anybody can make. Even if you’re DIY challenged, you can still do this!
Plus since it doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals, my kiddos can help me with simple tasks like wiping down the kitchen table & the bathroom counter/sink. With a separate cloth of course 😉
Oh, and it’s WAY cheap.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Spray bottle (I found mine at our local dollar store for $1)
Ingredient #1 – White Vinegar like this (I found an off brand at our local grocery for $1.98)
Ingredient #2 – Left over Orange Peels, or lemon if you like (we eat a lot of oranges)
A large jar or container with a lid.
Here’s what you do:
Put all your orange peels in the large jar or container with a lid, pour your vinegar over the orange peels- covering them completely. Let them sit for at least 2 weeks. Outta sight, outta mind. I keep mine under the kitchen sink.
After 2 weeks, pour your orange peel/vinegar solution carefully into your spray bottle. Try not to let the peels into the spray bottle. Fill the spray bottle half way with your orange/vinegar solution & then fill the rest of the way with water. It’s now ready to use! It should smell like faintly of oranges, which is way better then chemicals in my opinion.
**Don’t forget to keep filling your container with more peels & vinegar so you’ll never run out of cleaner. And like any other cleaner, I’d do a test spot somewhere inconspicuous before you spray down everything- just in case this doesn’t work for you.
Happy cleaning, my friends!
